In the Middle of the Night

There’s something really peaceful about walking in the cold air in the middle of the night. No people to disturb you. No traffic save the odd taxi and squad car. No worries or troubles.

Half an hour ago, walking along the Howth Road, I heard birds singing. It was beautiful. No other way to put it.

But now I must retire, because I’m really fucking tired.
