Just a handful of shots from this phenomenal gig.

Views of London, January 2005
I spent a few days in London just after New Year’s with the wonderful Benitha, and of course I brought my camera along. Unfortunately, I was let down by miserable weather and a lack of imagination, but I still managed to capture a few jems. (By which I mean a few of these, not the whole lot. God, no.)

Mission Of Burma, July 6 2004
Earplugs safely installed, I made sure I was front and centre (well, front at least) for what turned out to be a cracker of a show from Boston’s finest.

Views of South Africa, August 2003
A modest selection of the many photos I took when I spent a week in what used to be the Transvaal region of South Africa at the end of the summer, divided loosely between views of the Eastern Lowveld and of the southern tip of Kruger National Park.

26 Things
Take 26 photos over 31 days? That’s easy! Or so I thought. The reality was quite different. See how I tried to make the best of a bad situation.

The Screen at D'Olier Street, March 11 2003
Waiting for The Happiness of the Katakuris to begin, I pulled out my camera to take some shots of things around me that caught my eye.

Views of Toronto, March 2002 (Part One)
I stayed with my friend Ethan in Toronto for a few days over St Patrick’s Weekend in 2002. He let me borrow his digital camera and this is the best of what I came up with.

J Mascis & The Fog, June 3 2001
I went deaf for two days after this show, at the Hop & Grape in Manchester, England; that’s what you get for witnessing two of the world’s greatest musicians from the foot of the stage, without earplugs.

Details

I don’t take photos as often as I’d like or hope to, even though I always carry a camera around with me. Maybe it’s because I don’t think I’m very good at it; I’m certainly not technically accomplished.

But that’s what practice is for, I suppose.

All photographs have been captured using Fujifilm FinePix digital cameras (the A330 Zoom is my current weapon of choice) and retouched with Adobe Photoshop Elements, unless otherwise noted. See also the Macrolog Photography category for more samples of my work, as it were.
